Common Mental Illnesses and Mental Health Crises: Symptoms and Managment
Learning Objectives

1. Discuss the rate of depression and anxiety disorders based on several patient factors.
2. Describe common symptoms of depression and anxiety disorders.
3. Recognize the signs of potential mental health emergencies including suicidal intent.
4. Identify common psychiatric medications including their generic and brand names.
5. Explain how pharmacy technicians can identify if patients are compliant with their prescribed medications for depression and anxiety disorders.
