Learning Objectives

1. Describe the changes in the lungs and resulting signs and symptoms that occur in asthma.
2. Identify various triggers for asthma.
3. Discuss inhaler techniques for various inhaler devices.
4. Recognize the common adverse effects of the most frequently used medications for the treatment of asthma.
5. Define the vaccine preventable illnesses for which patients with asthma are prone.

November 11, 2022 - Correction

An error has been identified in the module titled Asthma: A Treatment and Delivery Device Update - Volume 27 No. 2.

The error is on page 12 of your module in Table 11. Short-Acting B2-Adrenergic Agonist Comparison. The error is in the third row of products (Albuterol nebulizer solution), column 3. It currently states 2-11 years and should state 5-11 years. A corrected table is shown below.
