Pain Management and the Opioid Crisis (Patient Safety Module)
Learning Objectives

1. Define key terminology related to pain, pain management, and opioid-use disorder.
2. Describe multi-modal treatment as it relates to pain management.
3. Discuss appropriate prescribing of opiods for pain management and co-prescribing of opioid overdose reversal agents relative to the CDC opioid prescribing guideline.
4. Identify medication therapy in the treatment of pain.
5. List medication therapy used in medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid-use disorder.
