Suzanne Kluge serves as the Corporate Director for Clinical Education at Option Care Health. Kluge is a clinical pharmacist who originated her career in hospital and community pharmacy, and then moved into the home infusion industry. During her extensive career in pharmacy, she has served as a clinical pharmacist, pharmacy manager, regional clinical director and corporate manager of pharmacy operations for a national home infusion company. Her background in home infusion includes organizing a corporate clinical training program to train and educate new pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses and dietitians; auditing and surveying pharmacies; implementing the use of smart pump technology with specific library for company; and developing policies and procedures for training, education, pharmacy, and sterile compounding. Kluge has also been working as an ACHC surveyor for nursing, home infusion and specialty pharmacies since 2010. Among her other credits, she served on the specialty advisory group for home infusion under the ambulatory care section at ASHP for seven years and is a preceptor for the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency program. Kluge serves as the chair of the education committee for the National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) and was appointed a Fellow of NHIA in the inaugural class of 2020. Kluge is licensed to practice pharmacy in 12 states, obtained a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Board of Pharmacy Specialties Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Certification, and master’s in business
administration from the University of Dayton.
